Isn't it ironic

The first time that Steve has to be away...

He had to go for a couple days trip to Montreal to bury his grandfather. My mom is arriving tomorrow, so it's only about 24 hours that I'm alone with the kids. Not that different from the average day.

...But, it just so happens that just a couple of hours after Steve leaves, the fuses for both our fridges blew out. We never had that happen here before, and we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary that I can think of to cause it.

If it had happened a week ago, not a problem, throw everything in the shed and it'd be as cold as a freezer, but it wasn't meant to be. I guess that's life.

Thankfully, there's the sweetest guy, a true knight in shining armor who's always there when you need him and happy to help.

So he came over and looked at the fuses, but our house's wiring is so ancient that the fuses where screwed up beyond help, so he rescued the food from my freezer. Hopefully it survives at their home there for a few days without being ravaged.

John...you're the best! We love you!

Phone Pics

Here's some older pics that I finally got off Steve's phone. Behind the blurry fuzziness are some cute kids.

Sleep in heavenly peace (for about 2 minutes)

Fall fair at a park near our house with a pumpkin Steve helped them decorate (that's been decorating our kitchen shelf for a couple months...just threw it out today)

I've joined the blogging crowd

It seems like an easy way to keep ya'll updated on our doings, pics of us and all, and you can see it whenever you want without me filling up your inbox. It also might be a good way for me to keep some sort of record of all the cute things the kids do and say. And if you get bored of me writing about them...the great thing is...you don't have to read it unless you want to. Here's the latest pic of baby's gorgeous smile. She's 2 1/2 months now, being great, the past week she's actually starting sleeping, as in, without being held or carried in a sling...so I'm very grateful for that. Come next week I might actually try out this theory I"m always reading about of letting babies put themselves to sleep, so we're in for about a week of crying I think, hopefully it'll work and I can start sleeping at night without waking up more than 1 or 2 times. Any of you heard any success stories of the babies-putting-themselves-to-sleep theory? I hope you'll be seeing a lot more of us here.
